Leaven Among The Meal

Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.    Matthew 13:33

Today we see in the present church an intermingling of leaven among the meal. The Bible interprets the leaven as false doctrine Matt. 16:12. The meal was in the Old Testament offerings. The woman is someone who is spiritually out of place 1 Tim. 2:11-12.  We see that the mystery of the gospel during this present age will be like a woman { someone spiritually out of place } who took some leaven { false doctrine } and put it in the meal { good doctrine } till all was leavened { corrupt }.

This is the result of the gospel during this present age. God's word is being corrupted by seeker-sensitive nonsense and by doctrines of devils.

Moral Relativism

There is a move not only in the world , but also in our churches to do away with absolute truth. Moral relativism is the concept that there is no absolute moral standard pressing down on each one of us. Some will say that what is true for you may not be true for me.

Is this concept true. Isn't absolute truth absolutely true for everyone. Someone can believe that they might not get wet if they go outside when it's raining. Just believing something does not neccessarily make it true. Yet, those who argue this, do believe in absolute truth, but change positions when the truth deals with them. For instance they will argue that what is true for me isn't neccessarily true for you. You can make up your own values. However, when they are done wrong by someone they will turn around and cry foul. By crying foul or saying that isn't fair, then they are appealing to a standard that is outside of themselves. They are inconsistent with what they believe.

If truth is not absolutely true for everyone then why demand justice when a drunk driver runs over your child. He might have thought it was alright to get drunk and run over your child. See how ridiculous this concept is.

Liberal theologians are propagating this from their pulpits because of a bias against God and his word. They will say that we cannot know if Jesus actually said that. On the other hand they will say that it matters not if Jesus rose from the dead bodily. What matters is how does he affect your life today. We need to be consistent with our views. Either we believe the Bible or we don't. By preaching such nonsense it is evident that some do not believe what the scriptures say.

Relativism Feet Planted in Midair by Francis J. Beckwith and Gregory Koukl. This is another great book I had to read for LIgonier Academy's Intermediate Apologetics Certificate Course.

Truth Decay by Douglas Groothuis. This is another great book that I recommend.

I receive no profit if you purchase these books. I linked them to an online store because I thought that you might like to read them.

Martin Luther

If any man doth ascribe aught of salvation, even the very least, to the free-will of man, he knoweth nothing of grace, and he hath not learnt Jesus Christ aright. Martin Luther

Charles Spurgeon

If your religion does not make you holy, it will damn you. It is simply painted pageantry to go to hell in. Charles H. Spurgeon

John Calvin

I everywhere teach that no one can be justly condemned and perish except on account of actual sin; and to say that the countless mortals taken from life while yet infants are precipitated from their mother's arms into eternal death is a blasphemy to be universally detested. John Calvin
